Description

Learn how CTEC in Salem, Oregon, achieved a 99.8% graduation rate and a 92% positive placement rate into high-wage careers, apprenticeships, and college programs through creating a workplace culture on their campus. They will share strategies you can use to teach, assess, and reinforce the professional skills students need for immediate success in the workforce. These professional skills, along with industry certifications and work-based learning experience, move CTEC graduates to the front of the hiring line because local businesses know that these program completers are "Job Ready, Day 1." In additional to powerful professional skills, CTEC students receive a robust academic foundation through an innovative integrated curriculum model. The team will share how their CTE programs of study integrate core subject credits and dual college credits embedded within the content and taught through an industry lens. Attendees will also learn how CTEC interacts and integrates with local industry to operate student-run businesses and provide equitable work-based learning opportunities that prepare their diverse population for success in rewarding careers.
