Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) estimates there are approximately 244,568 certified drone pilots in the U.S. The FAA estimates the need for drone pilots will grow to 360,000 within a few years. The NC drone technology courses provide the students with the basic background information needed in the drone field while preparing them for both FAA Part 107 Certification and teaching them to fly. Applications in drone mapping, flight processes, and entrepreneurship at the second level provide the student with industry-specific skills needed for success in this high-demand field. This workshop covers details on the curriculum content for all three levels of our drone piloting courses, including teacher requirements, equipment resources, and setting up these programs to meet local, state, and federal requirements. This is the fifth year of our program, and lessons learned and enhancements will be included in the presentation.
