Description
Minnesota’s Career and Technical Educators Teacher Induction Program (CTE TIP), based on Minnesota’s successful Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources 25 year old teacher induction program, supports early-career teachers despite their pathway to licensure. Participants will walk away with understanding and resources regarding how this CTE TIP has successfully retained 100% of participants in CTE thus far. The purpose of the Minnesota Career and Technical Educators Teacher Induction Program (CTE TIP) is to function as a professional learning community for early career teachers in career and technical education and to support their development, efficacy, success, resilience, and retention. Through a partnership with Minnesota ACTE, a service cooperative, and the Department of Education, the CTE TIP utilizes a comprehensive approach to assist new teachers during their early years. Effective teachers understand the commitment to be lifelong learners, and one of CTE TIP’s goals is to help new teachers begin this process. Program participants meet throughout the year through monthly virtual meetings and in the fall and spring with two face-to-face meetings. Participants form cohorts based on their licensure content area and are supported and mentored by experienced teachers in their content area.
