Description

A huge struggle CTE faces is how to acclimate and train industry-originated employees to effectively teach in the classroom. Without an educational background, our CTE teachers need the fundamental pedagogical skills to create an engaging classroom. These teachers have the technical trade knowledge, but need the skills and strategies to effectively transfer their knowledge to their students. This presentation will outline and explain the strategic new teacher mentoring program that was developed and implemented in our county. From professional development to mentoring support, our program has effectively prepared CTE teachers to create engaging instruction with a focus on rigor and project-based learning.
