Venue

Room

Description
In an age where the Perkins grant just doesn't cover enough (or the right things!), how can districts and schools further support career-focused programming? This session will show the ways Chicago Public Schools supplement public grants by engaging private partners to eliminate barriers for students participating in work-based learning, fund new initiatives, and equip programs with industry-validated technology. The session will explore several ways Chicago Public Schools engages industry partners and other funders as they seek to raise millions of dollars to support career-focused programming for students beginning with middle school career exploration and the end of their high school journey. Attendees will learn best practices they can use as they navigate the world of corporate and foundational partnerships to support their own programming as well as how to create a coordinated network of CTE stakeholders to leverage when seeking funds.
