Venue

Description

The job market is rapidly changing, and the younger generation can benefit from meaningful and impactful connection with mentors when starting their careers. Mentors offer a myriad of benefits from promoting personal development and confidence to helping identify career opportunities. Mentors, such as parents/caregivers and educators, can provide valuable insight to help youth make career plans that align with their abilities and interests and map out steps toward achieving their goals regardless of post-secondary intention. The redesigned ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) facilitates participants’ career development and increases mentor involvement at critical steps in the process. Students are encouraged to develop multiple paths to career entry to increase their chance of success in the 21st-century economy. This interactive session will highlight the new tools that mentors can use with students to build actionable career plans and facilitate meaningful conversations. These tools can also be used by educators to supplement existing curriculum. Attendees will gain access to the program-exclusive features of the ASVAB CEP that they can use with career-seeking youth.
