Venue

Description
This session will focus on what contributes to CTE student success by understanding postsecondary institutions’ CTE program alignment with their local labor markets. Our research in Florida includes a statewide survey of district technical and state colleges that offer sub-baccalaureate certificates and degrees. This session will focus on how the survey was developed using the Aspen Institute’s “Workforce Playbook” to select survey items. Results from the survey will also be presented to provide the audience with an example of findings from one state. The session will also discuss our next steps with how we plan to use the findings from the survey and answer future questions about CTE student success. Attendees will learn about an on-going project in Florida that focuses on alignment of local labor markets with postsecondary CTE programs. The largest portions of the session will include a crosswalk of the Workforce Playbook to survey items and time for the audience to ask questions and discuss how the survey, findings, or alignment to the labor market is most relevant to their roles. The goal of this session is to provide an example of a statewide survey of institutions that can be a useful example for attendees.
