Description
The focus of this presentation is on the Career Pathways Credential Grant (CPG) process in the state of Michigan. The CPG grant is intentional and instructive in its efforts to leverage the expertise and feedback of employers to guide the curriculum revision process for all CTE programs - including the transition to competencies and the integration of industry-recognized credentials. Throughout this presentation, we will share best practices for the following: 1. Identifying and aligning industry-recognized credentials; 2. Building competencies from a set of approved standards; 3. Aligning competencies to both the standards and the industry-recognized credentials; 4.Cross-walking core academic subjects (ELA, Math, Science) with the revised curriculum; 5.Creating postsecondary credit agreements; and 6. Facilitating teacher-led curriculum revision.
