Description

Saint Paul College, located in the heart of Saint Paul, Minnesota, is the most diverse community college in the state. The Trade and Technical Education automotive department recently started the launch of an Electric Vehicle program integrated into the current AAS at the college. This presentation will address sources of funding, how to navigate the process of starting a new program including buying equipment, creating support and momentum from industry and college leadership and working with the curriculum committee. The Dean of Trade and Tech along with the auto faculty will share the process, best practices and also the vast opportunities not only to grow EV but other sustainable energy programs for not only the metro area but also across the state. We will also address the nuances of working with sustainable energy programs and the unique factors that come with this emerging and booming industry.
