Description
In the 21st century, students learn in different times, spaces, and places. Come explore new options SCCTC has implemented to help students achieve their career goals. Hear from students and staff who have participated in and developed: 1. Future Ready Fridays: These are “special schedule/special curriculum” days where students design their own learning and teachers offer “career ready, college ready, and life ready” curriculum. Sessions include: Driver’s Education, CPR, vocal lessons, self-defense, financial literacy, and almost 400 more. Students often don’t experience these courses in the “regular” curriculum. 2. Keys to the County – 50 student leaders met with city and county leadership organizations to get the “keys” to Clark County. 3. Summer Career Camps: In partnership with the Southwest Tech Prep Consortium, VEX Robotics, and the Ohio Academy of Science, students in rising grades 6-8 attend Future Ready Career Camp to get early experiences with Career-Technical Education. These include CTSO-like competitions at the end of each week! 4. Future Ready Career Kits: Career mini-activities for students in grades 1-8 to experience engineering, agriculture, automotive, culinary and more! They come in lunch boxes with all of the ingredients necessary to get a taste of career technical education!
