Bio
Christi Lower, PhD, CAE, MS, RHIA, is the Director of Academic and Workforce Development for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Dr. Lower leads the strategic alignment of continuing education, professional training, and academic curriculum, including innovative program development, to promote learning pathways aligned with industry needs. She is a passionate advocate for the profession and is dedicated to driving public awareness and workforce recognition of AHIMA certified health information professionals.
Christi has earned a Doctor of Philosophy: Educational Leadership, Master of Science: Health Informatics, Bachelor of Business Administration: Management & Marketing, and Bachelor of Science: Health Information Management. Her research interests include organizational development, teaching and learning, leadership, mentoring, professional development, experiential learning, and competency-based practices.
With over 25 years of healthcare and leadership experience and prior work in academia, Dr. Lower has been recognized as an AHIMA Fellow for her significant and sustained contributions to the health information profession.
