Bio
I am in my 26th year of teaching (9 years STEM and 17 Business/Computers) in Ohio and am absolutely loving it! I began teaching later in my life, as I worked as an administrative assistant in a medical office for several years while attending school in the evenings. I designed educational materials, websites, and doctor presentations that proved valuable to my future endeavors. I obtained my bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo in Business Education with computer emphasis and vocational certification. In addition, I received my master's degree from the University of Toledo in Educational Technology.
While teaching business and technology for 12 years at the high school level, I started a multimedia class along with an end-of-year showcase (Oscar Night). I'm currently in my 14th year at the junior high level and have been in charge of our STEM classes for the last 9 years.
I am currently the advisor for H.I.P.P. (High Impact Peer Program - a leadership and anti-bullying program), a member of our district level Safety Committee and our building level Jacket Way Committee. I have presented at three ACTE conferences with great feedback from the attendees and look forward to presenting again. I have also presented for International for Women in 3D Printing “Maker Education During Covid”, and presented a virtual webinar with MatterHackers on 3D Printing in Education and Beyond. I was featured in an article in the Oct-Nov 2015 edition of The Pitsco Network magazine and have also written blog posts featured on the Pitsco website.
I enjoy woodworking, sports, spending time with family and being by the water. I have also been a high school and youth travel basketball coach. I have previously served as a Pitsco TAG (teacher advisory group) member, have been a member of the Ultimaker Pioneer Program for 3D printing and a Teacher Ambassador for MatterHackers.
