Linda Floyd
Bio
Dr. Linda Floyd is currently a director of state and district partnerships with the Southern Regional Education Board. She has been with SREB since 2017 when she was hired as the director of Technology Centers That Work. She brings more than 30 years of experience working on issues related to leadership and instruction in the area of college and career readiness. Prior to joining SREB, Dr. Floyd worked for the Kentucky Department of Education, providing leadership, supervision, and evaluation of principals for 27 state-operated area technology centers. While working in Kentucky’s Office of Career and Technical Education, she served on statewide committees and task force cross-agency teams; oversaw state and district operational policies, objectives, and initiatives; and developed, implemented, and facilitated professional learning for districts, high schools, and CT centers. Prior to her position at the state level, Dr. Floyd was a principal and an information technology and business teacher and served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Computer Science for Eastern Kentucky University and Somerset Community College. Linda holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science and a master’s in administration. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and completed a dissertation on “Impact Of Career And Technical Education On College And Career Readiness In Kentucky”. Linda currently resides in Kentucky with her husband, Joe Floyd, and enjoys spending time with her daughter, son-in-law and two young granddaughters, who live in Washington state.
