Bio

Dr. Carol Erwin was a 7-12 Family and Consumer Sciences teacher and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America adviser for 12 years in rural Nebraska. After having great experiences and working with amazing students at the 7-12 level, she took a position at Wayne State College in 2012 teaching the Foods and Nutrition classes and working with the Family and Consumer Sciences Education program. She then earned her doctorate in Adult and Higher Education Administration from the University of South Dakota in 2018 with her dissertation titled: Prioritizing Professional Development Needs of Secondary Family and Consumer Sciences Teachers in Nebraska. Professional development for FCS teachers continues to be an area of research and action as she also works to prepare the future FCS teachers for their careers in their future classrooms.
