Lori Broady is a member of the Teaching & Learning Team at ESU4. She to has a passion for Social Studies and CTE education, community service, and helping teachers and students learn. As part of her position at ESU#4 she participates in the continuous improvement process, as a member of external teams for both Nebraska Frameworks and Cognia. In 2018, Lori became a NWEA Map Certified Facilitator. She has also a trainer for Emotional Poverty through the Aha! Process as well as having numerous opportunities to be trained in behavioral and mental health for students and educators.

Part of Lori’s responsibilities at Educational Service Unit #4 include managing the Perkins V grant, assisting in the organization of EdCamps, planning the ESU4 Quiz Bowl competitions, establishing the ESU4 Student Leadership Academy and creating a Golden Readers program and competition for students in grades 3-8.

Ms. Broady has been involved in education for over 25 years in a variety of capacities. She was fortunate to spend 23 years as a Social Studies teacher at Johnson-Brock Public Schools and was involved in a wide array of programs including We The People, National History Day, Mock Trial, and Project Citizen. Creating a strong community service program at Johnson-Brock was a particular point of satisfaction for Ms. Broady. Prior to her work at Johnson-Brock, Lori worked at Nemaha Valley Public Schools in Cook, Nebraska as a paraeducator.

On a state level, she has worked on teams to revise and rewrite the Nebraska State Social Studies Standards on three separate occasions. Lori has served as a co-chair for the ESU Staff Developers Association Social Studies Cadre for the past 4 years. In addition to this, Lori was instrumental in designing a statewide program for educators to develop inquiry units student learning. She has served as a member of the board for the Nebraska State Council for Social Studies and has also been a member of the Nemaha Valley Museum board.
