Bio
Taija R. Jackson is a dynamic leader in the field of Technical Education, currently serving as the Director of Business & Trades at Uintah Basin Technical College. Taija brings a wealth of practical experience to her role, being a welder by trade, a former K-12 educator, an Utah small business owner, and a licensed Realtor. She's also shaping the future of Career and Technical Education (CTE) as a Ph.D. student at the University of Utah. Her academic journey also includes a Master's degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.
Taija's robust professional interests encompass postsecondary prison education, program improvement, leadership, professional development, induction, and all aspects of technical education. Recognized for her commitment and impact, she's been honored as an ACTE Postsecondary NextLevel Fellow for 2022-2023 and a 2023 New Leadership Academy Fellow.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Taija is deeply committed to her community. She acts as a community liaison with GOGI, holds various positions with local youth sports, and works toward community business development. A dedicated mother to three teenage boys, Taija also enjoys hiking and spending time conducting research in her spare time.
With her unique blend of industry expertise, educational experience, and leadership acumen, Taija R. Jackson continues to foster change and innovation in the realm of Technical Education.
