Candace Vinson


Bio

Candace Vinson has been a Career Readiness Education Consultant with the Michigan Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education for 4 years. She oversees the following career clusters: Education and Training, Family and Consumer Sciences, Law and Public Safety, Government, and Culinary and Hospitality. She also oversees professional learning and conference planning for the state, as well as workforce development projects surrounding education such as teacher apprenticeship, pipeline, and Future Proud Michigan Educator Launch. Prior to that, she taught physical education, health, family and consumer sciences, and CTE education and training courses for 17 years across 3 states. She holds a master’s degree in Workforce Development and is currently a PhD candidate through Western Michigan University in the Education and Human Development. Her research interests include workforce satisfaction and its impact on the recruitment and retention of CTE educators.
