Larae Watkins


Bio

Dr. Larae Watkins currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Career & Technology Education at the University of Central Missouri. She holds a PhD in Comprehensive Vocational and Technical Education, a MS in Agriculture Education, and BS degrees in Agriculture Education and Horticulture, all from The Ohio State University. In addition to teaching courses online, Dr. Watkins worked extensively with CTE teachers on curriculum development and revision and academic integration, as well as online CTE administrator trainings. Part of her time is devoted to developing and trying out initiatives that have the potential for helping CTE teachers connect with each other and with innovative programs. Dr. Watkins works with ACTE on CTE Learn content, the Asia Society and Longview Foundation on global competencies in CTE programs, and UCM’s efforts to update CTE teacher education programs, for both the traditional and nontraditional certification routes.
