Angela "Angie" Miyashiro
Bio
I teach high school health and physical education, Health pathways and Health Academy and am the CTE coordinator. My certifications include: Health and Physical Education, National Board and CTE Teacher Leadership. I work in a small k-12 rural school on the bottom of the Big island of Hawaii. I serve many organizations: Head Union Rep, School Community Council Chair, Wellness Coordinator, HOSA advisor, Health advisory boards, the State Racial and Social Justice and Human and Civil rights Committee. Additionally, I have also been part of CTE standards and I was the Health VP for the Hawaii ACTE.
I hold a doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership Studies with an emphasis in Sports Education research. I have a doctoral certificate as an Educational Technology Specialist. Master’s Degree in Higher also Education Leadership and Exercise Science Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation and k-12 CTE, Health and Physical Education certified. I am currently working on a Ph.D. in Health and Sports Psychology.
I have a desire to build a community and a climate of support for leadership through the respect, and personnel interaction with faculty, staff, and students as well as other constituencies. I want to help bring opportunities and engagement to our students. I have desire to improve student development and build a sense of community by upholding the mission and philosophy of education through knowledge and experience in education and the areas of fitness and wellness.
